All in All, a Pleasant Friday :-)

Good morning,

I'm writing from Arndis and Tchang's place.

I had a lovely coffee-and-chat with Diurnal_Lee yesterday night, followed by reading (yes, I actually did it this time) at the Umi open mic, and generally having a good time (with Diurnal_Lee as well as Arndis and Tchang who wandered by later in the evening) listening to Carib improv music and a dude playing timbale (tim-BAH-leh -- very, very much like a hammered-dulcimer) really, really well. (We were all very impressed).
Diurnal_Lee said it was a lot more fun than she expected, and that is a good thing. :-)

I read "Bare", "Ocean", and "On the Beach". The first one was received quite well (I though), though the other two not nearly so much. But still: I read, and got clapped at. :-)

After the show, I wandered back to Arndis and Tchang's place, they fed me (late) dinner, we sat around watching Utena, and then I got to sleep over on their futon (a bed-like-object I suspect I shall be occupying again in a couple of weeks).

I have a couple of apartment phone numbers to call, as well as a POD to arrange for delivery.

My mom is dropping by my current place this afternoon to take pictures of furniture for used!ottawa.

And there will be packing.

Speaking of which: CSI_Tokyo was wonderful and helped me move furniture yesterday.

Alas, the love-seat (alone, not even with the chair or coffee table) barely fits into the dining room with the dining set.
So I can't squeeze my stuff into Idioglossia's apartment. :-( (At least not without shelling out an extra $100+ for storage somewhere else, which would be silly given my financial situation).

So I need to find Somewhere Else.

Ideally - at this point - the Doral, as it apparently is hurting for people and has lots of space.
This would be good.
I can deal with stupid-hours-of-the-night fire alarms (in theory... hahaha) if it means I have a place to live.
This is important.

Anyway. Hopefully things will be looking up shortly. :-)

(I gotta say, I think part of me doesn't want to pack because I have to place to move to and, as such, am kind of in denial. Like: If I don't pack, I still have a place to live, right? Cause I'm not moving? Really? It's rather on the dumb side, but that seems to be what's going on. So. Must pack anyway.).

I'll be wandering home in about half a hour, I suspect.

- TTFN,
