Paul and I have now been dating for two years (and engaged for a little less than one). This time last year, we started looking for rings, and this time next year we will be getting married.
There's kind of a nice symetry in that, yes? :-)

Anywhoo. Paul told me to go look at the dining room table this morning, whereupon I discovered that he'd written out "I <3 You" in chocolate kisses and hugs. :-)
Yummy and adorable. And sweet, but that's Paul. :-) <3 :-)

In related news: We're (hopefully -- provoded Paul doesn't get stuck at work tonight, despite having already booked the time off) having roasted rock cornish hens for dinner tonight, with a wild rice side dish (or stuffing) that involves rosemary, garlic, shiitake mushrooms, cranberries, and possibly some apple cider. I'm thinking I'll do a rice-squash-mushroom-garlic side-dish, and just toss some garlic and cranberries into the chicken cavity as extra flavour. I may cook the rice (and possibly the chicken) in the apple cider.
Dessert will involve raspberries, but I'm not sure what else... Maybe I'll make raspberry tarts... That could work. :-)
I'd like to serve fiddlehead greens with this, but (A) the fiddleheads are long-gone, and (B) they'd probably make Paul slightly sick, anyway... Maybe I'll do something with brocolli. That could work... :-)

And in other, not-so-related news: The bathroom cabinet is done.
Paul still wants to put a brush-on top-coat on the counter-top, and that's fine, but it's all painted and it looks quite nice. Yay! :-)

That being said, I still have to paint the towel racks. That could, I expect, be done today -- possibly after I get home from work. (Assuming it's still this clear and dry outside).

Next stop is finding a quick-drying primer (well, most of them are) that will stick to tile really, really well. I think there's one called "smart primer" that would work for this, assuming the stuff we already have won't do so.

Then we'll have a nice, white bathtub stall (sadly, no contrasting blue and black border, but we'll live), and then there will be only the wallpaper border to worry about. -- Maybe I'll do the blue and black colour-scheme there. :-)

Anywhoo. I need to shower (shower!), dress, and eat and head down town in the next half hour. (I'm going early, so I can pick up dinner fixings and also find a card and maybe a little something for my Sweety. :-)

So, off I go. :-)
