So...

Paul and I had pictures taken on Friday night. :-) They turned out really nicely. :-)
Yay! :-) Couple Photos! :-)

Then we went for dinner at the Shanghai restaurant. They do really perfect tofu soup. :-) And their spicy tofu supreme (or something like that) is really delightful. :-) As is their noodles and veggies (which I think might be in a peanut sauce, but I'm not sure). Anyway. It was all good. (By my standards. Paul has a digestive disorder, and something didn't agree with him... We don't know what, though).

He stayed over at my house on Friday.

<*sigh*> It is *so* good to fall asleep with his arms around me! :-)

On Saturday morning we had maple-cornmeal pancakes. With yoghurt and jam (and maple syrup for me). Very tastey:
Make a double batch of the Joy of Cooking's "French Pancakes", but instead of the flour use: 1/2 C each Whole wheat, white wheat, brown rice flours and cornmeal; and instead of the sugar use: 1/4 C maple syrup. (For the whole thing, not for each single batch). Also: Add 2 tbsp veggie oil.

On Saturday we did our own things in the afternoon. He did school work, and I did fruit shopping (Mmm... Mango...) and dropped off a cloak pattern for Shifter the Practical Cat. :-)

I have my Hallowe'en costume fabric at last! :-) (Walmart has stick-on horns, but they're badly packaged (e.g.: only one horn per $8 package!) -- But I got them anyway, just in case I can't find them anywhere else).

But. :-) Back to the weekend:

Saturday night, we ate tofu burgers and sweet potatoes (yummy!) And garlic dill pickles!! (Even More Yummy!!)

Then we curled up on his bed and watched "High Fidelity" (the opperative word being "watched" as his room-mates were bent on washing every article of clothing they owned. The washer & dryer are right beside his bedroom, and his walls are about, oh, 3mm thick. So we couldn't actually hear all that much. But it looks good. ;-)

I stayed at his house on Saturday.

<*sigh*> See above. ;-)

Sunday breakfast was strawberry-mango-peach fruit salad with raspberry yoghurt dressing (Mmm, yummy! -- A banana would not have been too out of place, though. ;-) And cinamon-raisin (sp) bagels with blueberry jam.

We listened to some music and then saw "Under the Tuscan Sun" with his parents. :-)

This movie is very good, indeed! :-) And has lovely music. And breath-catching scenery, and a wonderful sense of whimsy-wonder-serendipity (just a tiny bit of magic... just a little bit). *And* it inspired me to cook Mushroom Pepper pasta for dinner! :-)

Mushroom Pepper Pasta:

Sauteed Veggies:
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 2-3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small shallot, minced
- 3+ cloves of garlic, minced
- 3-5 shiitake mushrooms, sliced into strips
- 5+ cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 red pepper, sliced into strips
- 1 yellow pepper, sliced into strips
- ~5 small bunches of baby spinach, washed and separated into leaves
- 1 pinch each dried basil and dried oregano

White Sauce
- 2-4 tbsp butter/olive oil
- 1/4 C flour
- 1.5-2 C milk
- 1 sprig fresh Sacred Basil, snipped
- 3 sprigs fresh Sweet Thai Basil, snipped
- 3 sprigs fresh Rosemary, snipped
- 1 tbsp parmasan cheese
- 1-2 tbsp havarti cheese, grated (or in very small cubes)

- ~3C Curly Pasta (Fusilli?)

Makes enough for four people. Although you may want to add extra on the veggies. ;-)

Additional options to the Veggie Sautee: Sundried tomatoes/roasted garlic (possibly artichoke hearts, but I dunno. ;-)

It's delightful. Very, very good. :-) (I made it up, myself! :-)

A note: Paul says that it's neat how sometimes one is drawn to movies that reflect one's own life and desires: "Young love. A wedding. A family. Hope and Goodness".

I love it. It's marvelous. Go and see it. :-)

Anyway. So that was our weekend. :-)

I feel I should note that: Paul and I will have been dating for three months as of tomorrow. This is significant only because I have *never* had a relationship (what few that I've had) that hasn't been in utter, utter shambles by this point.

I am still giddy with Love! :-) (*Score*!!! ;-)

And that is that. :-)

- Nam'ara,
- Amazon. :-)

Oh, yes: Monochrome Beast should be coming out in the next week or so. :-)

- Toodles, :-)
- Me. :-)
