Oki-Doki. :-)
I've written a letter to my aunts and my little cousin down in Ithaca (NY, not Greece). And I've called by friend Amanda, who I haven't seen in too, too long (thirty seconds while I was at work doesn't *really* count, although it was nice of her to drop in and say 'hi'. :-)
I must also call my sister, because she is (in theory) dropping by Ottawa with her boyfriend this weekend and I'm hoping to convince her to come up on the Friday, so that I can see her as well as go to Paul's family cottage on the same weekend.
Anyway. That's my current correspondence news. (How exciting).
In other (equally exciting) news: I have finally used up a role of film. It is from a year ago (I know because the previous roll had pictures from the house-warming/engagement party on it).
I took a picture of our bedspread (a quilt made by my Mom), a specific section that has some purple flowers on it. See, Paul says that purple is a good colour for a bedroom because it combines the passion of red with the calmness of blue. Also, I happen to like it.
Trouble is, the majority of the bedspread is crimson. Which means your average deep purple won't really go with it. However, a pale purple that matches the tone of the purple in the bedspread (but a shade or two lighter, so it isn't over-powering on the walls) might work.
The only trick is to avoid making the room look "cold" with a pale purple (edging towards gray, you see) covering the walls.
So, my question is: How do I warm up a pale purple room? And how do I keep pale purple from looking too "girly" ('Cause if there's anything that neither of us want, it's a "girly" bedroom). Also, please don't suggest using gold as an accent colour. I don't know if any of you would suggest that, but I don't like gold, so I figure I'll just pre-emptively say "no" to that. ;-)
Anywhoo. I'm hungry as a horse. (Or, possibly, a humming bird). So I'm going to go down and eat some breakfast. :-)
- Nam'ara,
- Amazon. :-)
