New Toy!

I have a new toy. :-)

Her name is Venus de Milo, and she's an old bust-form that was being thrown away at work. :-)

She is now my (attempt at a) dress-maker's dummy. :-)

There is a second one, upon-which Reyl has called dibs (don't forget to pick it up today, m'dear), to use for the same type of work. :-)

Three cheers for re-using stuff! :-)

I'm also thinking that, with a few stratigic applications of tin-foil, Venus can be my Frozen Minion, sitting outside my door near my jack-o'-lantern. :-)


I got a new wreath-frame. It turned out to be a bit big, so I'll either (A) have to brink it back (but the tag ripped off in my bag on the way home, so I don't know if that's an opiton) and exchange it for something smaller (which I'm not sure they have) and/or (B) get myself some wide, russet/brown ribbon and wrap the frame in that before putting the leaf-vine back on. :-)

Ah, crafting. What fun it is. :-)

Anyway, tonight Ami_B is coming over and we're yacking about plots. And probably griping about jobs as well. :-)
This will be fun.
I need to make a hearty soup. I'll have a quick look in my 365 Veggie Soups recipe book for some imspiration before I go today. :-)

I also need to:
A) Call Tara and Stephanie from Maxsys who have both phoned me to say 'come in and talk', which is at least something. Even if it isn't an actual offer of employment, it's an offer to help me find some. So that's good. (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!)

B) Call the spa where I have my pre-payed collection of treatments and actually book one of them. :-) I'm thinking Facial. Next Tuesday. :-) That will be pleasant. :-)

C) Eat breakfast. :-)

Oo. I also need to find my sister a birthday present. Her birthday is November 11th, so I need to come up with something fairly soon. :-) It will be a CD of some-sort, I believe. :-)
