Rhonda Douglas and Other Points of Interest

Poetry reading last night was pretty awesome. One of the writers - Rhonda Douglas - has written a book (out this fall) called Some Days, I Think I Know Things: The Cassandra Poems, which are great, big huge buckets of AWESOME. :-D

The poems that are spoken by The Chorus are fantastic. They are pop-culture, speaking in stereo. :-D

It's going on my wish-list. :-D


CUBE Gallery is a nice little place, too. Small. Not intimidating. (Which is nice, if you're me - the NAG always feels like tomb. :-P)


Note: The Museum of Civ. is doing an exhibit about the Winnipeg General Strike, and there's a tour on May 15th (the anniversary) at 7:30pm. (Seanchaidh, you might be interested in this - working class history, and all).


I think my heart is getting set on Hintonburg for the next place I live (you can walk to everything!!! There's a library! It's wonderful! :-)
