(no subject)

So, there's an apartment available on Kent at Gloucester.

I've asked to go and see it.

It'll probably be gone before I get to, but we'll see.

Still, there are one or two others that I can take a peak at.

<*sigh*>

I fuckin' hate getting my hopes up over things.

It's just so miserable when they bugger off and fall through. :-P

Anyway. Phone-calls to make. Bleh. :-P

(no subject)

So I went and had a look at the Kent Street place.

Holy-shamoly, did they ever lie.

that second, smaller room? Not eight by twelve. Eight by six!

Which, yes, makes a very acceptable office.

But it's not what I was expecting.
Big kitchen, certainly.
Fire escape (well, I would hope!) small bedroom, small living room. No actual space for the dining room table.

So that decision was remarkably easy. :-)


That said, the mid-rise building arround the corner from it (same great location, plus added bonus of balcony!) has appartments for rent. So I shall give them a call and see what they have and how much they cost. :-)


In other news: I very nearly squeed out loud in the middle of the library.

The OPL has a copy of BENT on Writing: Contemporary Queer Tales featuring some very excellent writers (my favourite poet included, but also Leah-Lakshmi and Nalo and Anna Camilleri) so SCORE! :-D I've been wanting to get my hands on this book for a while, and I'm TOTALLY thrilled to be able to do it for free! :-D :-D :-D

Also have picked up The Woman I Kept To Myself by Julia Alvarez.


So I have spiffy, spiffy reading material! Hurrah! :-D

Anyway, time to wander off. Wish me luck with the other appartment possibilities. :-)
