Attention Canadians: Moria has some information that you might like to read.

Just sayin'.

(On the plus side, this is helping to make NYC look that much better. ;-)

So.

So far, today, I've sent off resumes, contacted the Ottawa School of Art to see about getting on their modeling lists, and made pound cake. (The pound cake is chocolate-macadamia, and it currently in the oven).

I also sent a note to Sara saying "Honey, I don't have your cell number. How am I making this cheese?"
Which is a really weird statement when viewed totally out of context. (Even when you know what the actual context is...) o.O

Anyway. We'll see what happens.

I still have no work ligned up for next week. Might get two weeks to admin/reception at HRSDC in the latter half of December. Which would certainly help with the January rent, if nothing else. :-)

Anywhoo. Cake will be out of the oven in the next couple of minutes, and then I head over to Sara's place (hopefully I can find some contact information for her there... Hrm... Failing that, I can at least make the okara-cheese, since that's easy. ;-)

And now, a quiz:

Your Spiritual Number is Five

You bring adventure and change to people's lives.

You are willing to challenge your friends and push them to grow.

Right now, your life is about figuring out where to direct your energy.

If you're not careful, you can become too unreliable or flighty. You need the perfect project.

You live a free form life - which allows you to be very innovative and a great problem solver.

Rules, schedules, and structure practically destroy you. You have to do things your own way.

Well, I've been and come back.

One cheese is made.

The other is... missing enough ingredients that I didn't think I could fake it without her talking me along.

I came home to a message on my phone saying: "Bugger -- you planned to turn up a lot earlier than I expected you to. Shoot. If you're still up for cheese-making, give me a call [insert cell-phone number here], and we'll see what we can do to make this work."

More or less.

So I have a phone call to make, and then I go back over to her place and see if I can still get in.

In other news: My pound cake is delicious, but the texture is off. It's *very* crunchy on the outside, and *very* moist on the inside. Like a soufflee that's gone and fallen, too.
Very weird.

Anyway. Still: Cake for me! :-)

Feeling rather pleased with myself.

I have made cheese. Again. This time using that magical thickener known as "agar flakes".

I am intrigued.

Anyway. Cheese made. I have, in some small way, saved the day. Hurrah! :-D Mission accomplished. :-D

Things to do tomorrow:

1) Laundry.
2) Dishes.
3) Hot bath featuring a heavily vanilla-scented bath bomb!

Things to do tonight:
1) Find/write some poetry
2) Read it at Umi Cafe.

I have approximately one hour in which to do this.

To that end: TaTa! :-D

Well...

That could have gone significantly better. :-P

Which will, I fucking hope, teach me *not* to read half-cooked poetry in a public setting.

Eugh.

No energy. And no meat to the poem, so nowhere to go in order to *get* energy. Blegh!

That said: At least I only half-sucked tonight. The other poem was (a) good (although maybe not mind-blowing, certainly acceptable), and (b) actually Finished.
So I only feel half-rotten about the experience. (That said, it *was* nice to see Arndis and Tchang out for a bit).

That said, I bloody-well want to shake off the funk that I've developed as a result of the suckage.

I think bed-time for me is in order. Hot bath tomorrow morning, followed by laundry, dishes and reading my new poetry book in order to get back in the groove.

Maybe I'll even luck out and write something. :-)
