I find myself having a bit of a Screaming-At-People-in-Capslock moment.
There is a debate going on in someone else's lj.
Being non-confrontational and/or passive-aggressive, I have decided to rant/moan/sob about my Issue here, instead.
<*sigh*>
Okay.
Let's see if I can't state this with some degree of clarity.
A society that says Masculine = Good, Feminine = Bad (or less-good, or whatever), will teach that mentality to *all* of its members.
Not. Just. The. Boys.
So, yes, in fact: Having some bitch beat you up in grade five because you're gay is in fact some bitch beating you up because she's absorbed the teachings of her androcentric, masculinity-adulating society.
And NO, feminism is *not* about "girls get to hit the boys, and boys get blamed for being hit".
For fucks sake.
It *is* about girls not getting told "You were asking for it" or "You just need to try to be a better woman" or any number of other slime-ball lies when the boys hit *us*.
Can you see the difference?
I can.
Anyway. So that's what's got me so pissy.
On a (theoretically) more cheerful note:
It's Pride Week (here in Ottawa, at least), and I felt like making this:

- TTFN,
- Amazon.
