I'm getting freaking frustrated with this appartment hunting.
I've called The Glouster Apts. twice, and I have yet to get a returned phone call. This is very irritating.
I mean, allegedly, they have appartments for rent.
You'd think they'd like to rent them out.
Especially to a nice, quiet, employed almost-30-year-old such as myself.
I mean, REALLY.
(And the location is spectacular -- Gloucester @ Kent (*just* quiet enough to not suck) -- right around the corner from the community garden, walking distance to China Town and U of O, a block from Bank (and PTS and the Herb and Spice...), and two/three blocks from the transit way).
Unfortunately, they do not seem to be interested in renting me a place to live. :-P
Hopefully this will change shortly.
That said, I've called a couple of other places.
One is the place on the corner of Booth and Poplar. As it turns out, there are two appartments available there (one on the top floor, one on the main floor, I guess?) for the same price ($665 all inclusive). One has a "den", and one doesn't - I suspect they both have very small bedrooms, but I figure it's worth taking a look. I can - according to the dude on the phone - only see them via open house. Which are on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:20pm.
I may see if I can re-schedule (by, say, half an hour) my meeting with Ami (or, conversely, see if she wouldn't mind meeting me in China Town instead of on Slater -- certainly easier to park the car for two minutes that way. ;-)
The other place I called is a lease-take-over. A gal needs to move out-of-province and wants someone to take over her until-February lease. (with option of renewal after that). The rent is $725. I have no idea what this does or doesn't include. But it's MacLaren @ O'Connor, and it has a dish-washer and (allegedly) a big bedroom with lots of closet space. So we'll see if it's still available. I hope it is. :-)
Send me good appartment vibes, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. :-D
In other news: Tonight: I'm attempting the open-mic at Umì Café. It's at 7pm/7:30pm.
So it's time for me to run on home and eat something quickly before coming back out again. :-)
- TTFN,
- Amazon. :-)
