So. Today is Wednesday.
On Friday, I am going down to London (ON) for my grandparents' 90th birthday shindig. This is going to involve an afternoon shmoozing with other 90-year-olds over canapes and tea. It is also going to involve a barbicue.
To pack:
Toothbrush
Makeup
Sivler mules
raspberry-swirl skirt
raspberry blouse (Yep. I havea blouse. Of all things...)
little black cardigan
lap-top (I live in hope)
nightgown
spare t-shirt
To wear (in car + to BBQ):
long, denim skirt
purple t-shirt (or similar)
cozy sweater
casual sandals
Hm.
I need to do laundry again. :-\
In other news: OMG I Think I Might Have Actually Changed Someone's Mind!!!
At least I think I might have *helped*.
Which is awesome.
You remember dude-face? Well, I don't think I managed to do anything with him. But I got this in my inbox today:
Now I need to go do some hard thinking (and re-read that a couple of times.) I have heard and read a lot about the unrecognized priveledge issue, and for the most part I have agreed that it was full of shit. Yes, some groups have priveledge, but every INDIVIDUAL has advantages and disadvantages, and saying it is appropriate to be proud of/gather as/protect group A (i.e. women) but not group B (i.e. men), was rediculous if not outright abhorrent.
I've seen a lot of arguements against my point of view, but this is the first that has made me seriously reconsider. That was well-put and succinct.
Thank you.
YAY-YAY-YAY-YAY-YAY! :-D
Moving right along. :-)
