Okay.
I’m tired. As in: Still Tired.
Sunday seriously took it out of me and the job-interview did what interviews usually do, which was to just stress me out completely (srsly – ghost and I spent something like three hours just sitting under my duvet chatting and drinking tea while I warmed up and calmed down. It did us both a lot of good – alas for the lack of sex in the scenario, but it was still a huge help).
As such, I am doing a meme. A silly, fluffy, relatively brainless meme that I ganked from Seanchaidh. Behold:
1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up.
Katadyn water filter (coolest thing evar, folks); unwelcome sea kayak; dozing Senegal parrot (named Lola), PINK TULIPS!!! (that are edging towards wilting but actually holding up really well), and my copy of Late Eclipses (which is awesome, and you should all go out and read it, ideally by purchasing it first).
2. How do you style your hair?
Current? It’s in a braid that’s been twisted up into a bun and clipped to hold its place. I usually go with this or the messy bun/ponytail thing, as they both look professional and they both keep my hair out of my face, while also both being workable with kinda interesting clothing.
3. What are you wearing now?
(Speaking of…) Not remotely interesting clothing. Black, draw-string, tissue-cotton skirt that is very, very floaty and comes to just below my knees. Raspberry/Strawberry striped cotton (blend, probably) tank top. Black long-line hooded sweater with reasonably long sleeves and two snap-closures at the front (undone). That’s pretty-much it.
4. What's your occupation?
Freelance writer, nude model, head of admin for Voices of Venus, owner and operator of (and, more to the point, supplier for) Amazon Creations small luxuries craft business, poet (and, one hopes, prose-pornographer, but I haven’t published anything on that front yet). I’ll know in a week if I’m also the assistant managing editor of the Canadian Journal of Emergency Medicine (Send me good job vibes, internets! I really want this job!!!)
5. Name a favorite something (flower, rock, food, film, song, etc.) that you think no one knows?
Chocolate Peanut-butter-cup ice cream. Raw blue Sapphires. Orion/Cassiopeia/UrsaMajor.
6. Who was the last person you hugged?
My ghost. (Not remotely surprising, I know. ;-)
7. What is/was for dinner?
Atlantic salmon, broccoli, brown rice. With peach-raspberry-blueberry pie (and optional pistachio ice cream) for dessert. My ghost treats me VERY well indeed. <3 :-)
8. What did you do today?
So far? In No Particular Order: Eaten breakfast (coffee + milk & sugar, crumpets with butter and cheddar). Had the Spring Fling meeting via email. Checked out the price of post office boxes ($56 for three months, $15 of which is a key-deposite). Contacted all my poets for the VoV show on Wednesday. Received two temp-job opportunities (for the same job at two different rates. What. Haven’t responded to them yet. Considering doing a reply-all and mentioning the discrepancies). Tried to log onto my pro-blogging sites to respond to comments, but the sites are both down (for some reason <*is somewhat annoyed about this*>), emailed VERSeFest to find out how the door float is working for the shows this week (and received the reply), read some more of Late Eclipses, devoured pistachio ice cream and a piece of marble pound cake… That’s probably the majority of it right there.
9. Favourite cupcake flavour?
Hm… Lemon-Blueberry with cream cheese frosting and a mix of lemon curd and blueberry jam inside. Also chocolate cupcakes with flavoured icing (whether that a coffee-and-irish-cream flavour or a nut-butter flavour or a raspberry-cream-cheese flavour… They are ALL loverly).
10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
I don’t like this question. I don’t like the “had to” part of it. If I were to, for example, adopt a “real name” style of pen name – to distinguish between porn and non-fiction work, for example – I’d probably go with some variation of Catherine. Everyone says I look like a Catherine, so I figure I might as well go with it.
11. What was the last item that you bought (that wasn't food)?
Uh… bus tickets, probably.
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
the South Passific, in general. Also England-Scotland-Whales (and, probably, Ireland and Brittany, since I’d be in the area, anyway). Also: Finland. And possibly Belgium and France.
13. Favourite type of music?
This seriously depends on my mood. I tend to bounce between dancy stuff like Ke$ha and Lady Gaga, Emo Boi Bands, Punk Chick Stuff, and Celticopagan Floaty/Folky Stuff like Sooj/Heather Dale/Loreena.
14. Favourite novel?
Uh… There are many of these. Palimpsest. Rosemary and Rue (probably, although I enjoy the whole series), Valient. Night Watch. American Gods. The list goes on…
15. Your favorite pair of pajamas?
What are these “pajamas” you speak of?
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I would like to be good at singing again. This first involves both (a) getting over my fear/horror at how far my voice has, er, deteriorated in the past ten years, and (b) being able to tell the difference between “sore throat due to being rusty” versus “sore throat due to actually causing damage through poor technique”.
17. Who do you want to bitchslap the most?
Rayseline Torquel. My girlfriend’s ex. Temp Agencies in general. People who throw tantrums when they don't get their way (my, that was passive-agressive of me, wasn't it). A wide variety of former bosses (Ha! See previous...). Also: My girlfriend, but only in an S/M context. ;-)
18. If you could read a loved one's mind for 24 hours, would you?
Gawds, No! Talking is better, plus you don’t get all the Random. :-)
19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Uhm… It may give you some insight into my state of mind at the moment when I say: This week to be over. Hoy. <*is tired and wants a vacation*> <*would also like the kind of income that will allow for her to pay for said vacation*> Cripes. :-P
