That's the trick of it.
There are houses south of town - little bungalows, even - on big lots that I can get for much, MUCH less than what's available in the city, even with city services (non-well-based water, garbage pick-up, stuff like that). And part of me is totally gung ho to get one of those places.
The other part of me is going "It would be imperative that I learned how to drive and that we started owning a car again. Because otherwise I wouldn't be able to get anywhere ever and most of my livelihood would go right out the window. And that would be a problem".
On top of that, I'm not sure how much fuel an hour-long trip into town and an hour-long trip back home would run me, so it might wind up eating most of my income just driving to work and back. :-\

So, yeah. Some things to consider and think about. :-)
