Okay, you know all those stories about water-faerie women (selkies, mermaids, etc.) who come out of the water to marry husbands on land?
I wrote a little song about a human woman who fell in love with a Selkie man.
Behold:

Chorus:
So where you go I'll follow,
I'll tread the ocean tide,
Put on the oiled skin
And be your bride.

1) Never have I seen a man so lovely,
Your skin so smooth, your dark eyes ocean-deep;
Your kisses by the border of the water
Still haunt me in my waking and my sleep.

Chorus

2) Beloved I will learn to breathe the water,
And walk among the sailors' salty graves,
If you will only tell me that you love me,
I'll learn to live my life below the waves.

Chorus

3) I'll wear the seal-skin mantle on my shoulders,
I'll wear it gladly and for all my days,
Forsaking the familiar lives of humans
For you, I'll leave and learn the ocean's ways.

Chorus

4) Oh, Lover, I will walk into the ocean,
I leave behind my fam'ly and my life,
I'll leave behind the land, so sure and solid,
If you will only have me for your wife.

Chorus x2.
