Okay.
So.

A couple of friends of my Mom are throwing me a bridal shower tomorrow.
My Maid of Honour is unable to attend this because she has a wedding to go to. (I told her: weddings pre-empt showers because you wouldn't have the latter without the former). So all is well. She said "why don't we go somewhere for dinner, and we'll catch up and gab because we haven't had a chance to do that in, oh, damn near a year."
And I was like "Okay. Where? :-)"
And she said "Meh. We'll figure it out on Friday. Meet me at Chapters."
So I did.
But.
She said "my parents are out in the car. Do you mind if we just go over to a friend's house quickly? I need to pick up this book." (Which, given that she is a grad-student, is like "boy can I ever identify with that". ;-)
So we got in the car and we went *way the hell out to Nepean* to this friend of her's house.

The area sounded vaguely familiar.

Which really should have been a tip-off. :-)

Also a tip-off: Her dad saying to me "So who's going to be at this party?" followed by her mom elbowing him *sharply* in the ribs.
At which point I went "The party's on Sunday. This is just dinner" (or words to that effect), while thinking "okay, so when we get to what-ever the hell restaurant we're going to, there will be more than just me and Amanda at the table. I wonder who will be there..."

<*Drums fingers on table*>

It wasn't at a restaurant.

I am dumb. The (vaguely familiar) address was, in fact, my friend Cathy's new house (which I hadn't seen before, clearly).
I got duped.
I was surprised.
I was irritated (and still) am at my own freaking gulability.
Ye gods...
But yay-yay-yay! It was exactly what I wanted! :-D

Anyway.
So there was food.
There was a recipe book (featuring many tastey things and lots of decorations, including a cross-stitched book-cover done by Cathy herself). There was a purple-foam crown (w/ veil) and star-wand.
There was a lot of sex-presents (body paint (in a pretty-pretty jar shaped like a woman), and lickable-massage-balm, and sexy lingeree) as well as bath bombs and chocolate and luxurious soap, and this wooden massager thing, and a little leather jewellery travel-case (with compartments) and these pretty-pretty cuffs (with a pretty-pretty presentation, Jason) made by Shameless Headonistic Apparel (thank you for supporting local gothic businesses).

There was also food-galore. :-D
I approve greatly of food galore! :-D
Cheesecake and fruit and nanimo bars and meat-balls and veggie-lasagna and sushi (with salmon and avocado! :-) and these wacky-little-stick-things (snacky-food... like chips but... hollow and shaped like long rectangular... tubes... Um...) and mango-salsa, and veggies-and-dip, and tim-bits, and these cheese-ish-and-tomatoes on a stick things w/ peanut dip, and fudge, and, and, and... Just all sorts of yummy things! :-D

(The recipe book features the recipes *for* the food galore, I should point out). :-) And a very pretty tree from Marisol. :-)

I am also now the proud owner of a whole bunch of little pottery figures including no less than three women, one man, two kissing fish, one cat, one very beautiful-in-its-scrolling-simplicity heart, and a whole slew of little heart-shaped "cookies" (do not attempt to eat: you'll break your teeth)... I'll have to check the boxes to see what-all-else is in there. :-)

It was a very, very, *very* good night. :-)

- TTFN,
- Me. :-)
