The 'Jack and Jill' party.

This is, effectively, a bridal shower for the Groom as well as the Bride.
:-)

It was kind of funny, because *all* the gals there, those younger than me, and those older than my mom, and everyone in between, knew what I meant when I said things like "are we playing silly games?" or "do I have to wear a plate?" and they all groaned about it, too. ;-)
The guys, on the other hand, were looking at... well, they were looking at all the heaps of stuff being given to us (see below) and going "Did you get a shower? I never got a shower..." Which made me giggle. :-)

And now, the Loot:

We are now the happy proprietors of:

- A slow-cooker (with a cooker-to-table-top... bowl... or what-ever it is that the food cooks in)
- A beautiful bread-and-dip tray (made of rubber-wood! Yay, sustainability!)

- An equally beautiful ceramic tray (we've been informed that it is to put grilled vegetables on)
- A whole-fish barbicu-ing cage (it looks like a squash racket that opens up. I can cook a whole fish in it!!! Whee! And the only kind of fish Paul likes is barbicued Salmon! And I *have* a whole salmon in the freezer!) and a square-ish veggie-grilling 'collander'
- A really fancy set of barbicue-tools
- A very definite suspiscion that we are, in fact, getting a barbicue as as group gift from the above three couples (thank goodness, otherwise what would we do with all of these wonderful barbicuing tools? ;-)

- A book of 'romance ideas' (which is clearly written by a christian, living in the states, but otherwise isn't too bad at all)
- A set of Ravenscroft crystal glasses + a set of "Children of the Raven" Bill Reid coasters (cool-cool-cool!) -- Do you sense a theme here?
- A really cool composite picture frame (four 5x7 frames all attached together)
- A set of colapsable sylicone measuring cups and spoons (which are quite neat, and good if ever we end up camping, 'cause they pack *really* well)
- Tea towels (in bright colours)
- Bath Towels & washclothes (in off-white -- they go with nothing we own, but are soft and fluffy, so who cares. ;-)

- A totally, utterly gorgeous picture -- it's a black-and-white photograph of the lake up at the Raven Family cottage (in Haliburton?). Paul's cousin Kyle took it off their cottage dock.
It's freaking amazing. :-)

Go See His Stuff!

I like "reflected" and "two trees i", personally. :-)

I now have many thank-you notes to write. :-)

- TTFN,
- Amazon. :-)
