Just came back from Lauren's Visitation.

Huh.

Okay, I've been to *pleanty* of funerals, and I've handled human ashes with no problem what-so-ever. However, this was the first time I've seen a dead human body.

Impressions: She doesn't look a thing like herself. Hrm. (I thought that *no* dead bodies looked like the people they were in life. Apparently I'm wrong. Apparently the make-up people did a not-so-good job on Lauren's body. Hrmf).
None the less. What was really... odd... was that: I am not used to seeing *anybody* lie that still. It's like "she's a plaster maniquaine" (cause I can't spell), except that ... the maniquaine is made of... body... That's really wierd... :-\

Anyway. It wasn't gross or creepy or anything anymore, it was just... "Well. That's *definitely* not Lauren anymore." And that was about it.

She will always carry on,
Something is lost, something is found
We will keep on speaking Her name,
Some things change, some stay the same.

In other, vaguely related news: Apparently I'm 'naturally grounded'. Which came as a hell of shock to me, but kind of explains a couple of things. (Like: When I try to do grounding excersises, I don't feel any different. And, possibly, why I get told I give good hugs).
<*shrug*>
Anyway. That was... interesting to find out.
Jim -- who is naturally grounded, but knew that already, has offered to tell me more about this stuff, since I am rather clueless.
Wow.
Who knew?

Anyway. :-)

That's it from me. Now to come up with Something for Dinner, and have a look at Paul's thesis. :-)

- TTFN,
- Me. :-)
