So, a while back Idioglossia was talking about purging her house and getting rid of stuff.

In the interests of being able to make our rental room an "unfurnished" (or at least an 'Un-bedded") room, we are doing the same thing.

See, we had about eight million rubbermaid containers in our storrage/laundry room, many of-which were filled with stuff. Lots of it was Paul's stuff (seeing as most of my stuff is already stationed around the house), and some of it was stuff that I'd never unpacked.

Well, it's now unpacked, and a lot of said stuff is currently sitting in one of the rubbermaid containers, waiting to go to the Sally Anne.

My blender may be joining it. You see, Paul also has a blender (a newer one, with a lid that doesn't look like stuff would go squirting out the top when things are being blended -- we still have to test it out), so I may donate my already second-hand one to either (a) the Sally Anne, or (b) my brother, should he desire it.

I've also been going through stuff elsewhere in the house. Namely, the bedroom. I've got a bunch of clothes (and a few other things) also set to go, plus a pile of books (many of-which are old Hum. books) that can be sent off, as well.

In other news: I've just been informed by Paul that I can never use nail polish remover around the new counter-top because the nail polish remover will "eat it".
Consarn it! Can't they make a top-coat that *works*???

<*grumble*>

That being said, it will be nice to actually be able to use the counter-top at all. It's been a good 10 days since we started this project, and I'm tired of brushing my teeth in the basement. (Also, it will be good to have to top-floor landing cleaned up. Yeeg. Too much junk!)

Anyway. When I get home from work today, I'll be painting the towel racks (I'm going to use the spray paint that we used for the counter, but I'm going to spray it into an old yoghurt container and use a brush -- I've done this with a Q-tip before -- so that I don't have to cover the walls that much.

I'm also going to peel the vinyl off the wall-paper border, and then scrape off the paper part, so that the wall is ready for the new border (when it shows up, in wallpaper form, next week some time) to go up.

Then I'm going to wash the bathroom with a light TSP solution, because it's going to need it. I think I'll generally tidy the top floor, as well. Oh. And goody. I'll also be cutting the old caulking out from around the counter-top. (Blast, I was hoping Paul we do all of that. ;-)

Anyway, I think priming and painting the shower can wait until tomorrow.

And the basement bathroom can wait until next week. (The counter and cupboards there are going to be painted white. I'll need to get some little white knobs, and some putty, but otherwise we've got the primer, the rollers, and I *think* the spray-paint I got for the shower -- provided there's some left -- will work for the cabinet as well).

But. That's what I've been doing over the past couple of days.

Time for breakfast, now. :-)
