This is a rally to denounce the indecent Legislative Acts that regulate sex work and sex workers.
We maintain that the laws are indecent because they are moralistic, discriminatory, increase the danger and stigma experienced by us in our work lives and inhibit our full participation in Canadian society.
We also maintain that the laws are detrimental to communities. The laws do not work. They endanger sex workers and they undermine communities.

POWER (Prostitutes of Ottawa-Gatineau Work Educate & Resist) is a
non-profit, voluntary organization founded on February 17th, 2008.
Membership is open to individuals of all genders who self-identify as
former or current sex workers, regardless of the industry sector in
which they work(ed) (i.e. dancers, street level workers, in and out
call workers, phone sex etc).

We envision a society in which sex workers are able to practice their
professions free of legal and social discrimination, victimization,
harassment and violence and in which sex work is valued as legitimate
and fulfilling work making an important contribution to society.

I've been thinking about Altar space.

Wondering if, perhaps, I should set up small altars to my various deities in different parts of the apartment. One for Mattaer over the stove (there's wall-space for a little shelf there, if I can find one). One for Mitzu in the bedroom. One for Maia, though I'm not sure where -- maybe in the bedroom again, or maybe at the writing station. One for Misha in the Plant Corner. One for Makkaa in the entrance way (for the threshold). If nothing else, it would spread the nick-nacks and candles out a little. ;-)
Not sure where I'll put the ancestor shrine.

I know I've got one "nick-nack" shelf that might do the trick (for Makkaa or the Ancestors -- it was made by one of them, after all).

I'll have to poke around and see what I can come up with. :-)

My workplace is insane.

The underlings are not allowed to talk to the overlings.

I can't email my over-boss, or go knock on her door (which is across the bloody hall from me).

How the hell am I supposed to communicate with someone when I'm not allowed to communicate with them???

This, as they say, is fucking dumb. :-P
