Oh Noez! Vaccine Promotes Pre-Marital Sex!!!

See... I would have thought the bishop would have been all over this as a good thing that promotes baby-making sex, as - in future - it would give people one less reson to to make their boyfriends husbands wear condoms.

<*sigh*>

Why can't he see the silver lining here?

I noticed something... interesting today.

About myself.

I appear to succumb to peer pressure remarkably easily.

(Well, I never said I wasn't suggestable... It's part of why I try so hard to hang out with people who already have more or less the same values and ethics as I do... It keeps me from betraying myself. Urk.).

Anyway.

My closest non-Chinese-centric grocery store is The Herb and Spice. (Closest, period, is the Kowloon market -- excellent for seaweed, dried mushrooms, cheap peas, bean-balls and soy products of unimaginable variety, which is coming in damn handy these days).

The Herb and Spice is, of course, the Organic/Vegetarian/Hippie/Granola store.
Which is handy, because I've been wanting to eat more organic/local/fair-trade/etc food (not so much on the granola, personally, but that's me).
Plus they sell milk in glass bottles (that cost as much as the milk, so I'm aparently getting *Free* milk when I do it like this. It's better than video rental!) which means I get to contribute that much (small ammount) less to the petrolium industry as a whole.
Go me! :-D

However.
They do - somewhat unexpectedly, but it's a happy surprise - sell meat. They have one, small fridge-case with sausages and salmon and stuff in it.

And I felt guilty looking in there.

Me! Guilty!

This is getting on my nerves. :-P

Perhaps I will check out their sausage sellection later on. (Mmm... maybe they have turkey sausages... :-)

Anyway. That was my observation.

At present, I am happily noshing on left-over salad -- which worked out really well.

Spinach
red onion
ripe tomato
red pepper
unripe/green tomato (minced)
mandarin orange sections
pomegranite seeds

dressing of:
lemon juice
maple syrup
raspberry soyghurt
dill
basil

Extra dressing of:
Avocado-artichoke dip (made with plain soyghurt, tofu, garlic, lemon juice and lime juice and, yet, which is surprisingly bland on its own -- it works much better as a dressing, or as a compliment to Roasted Garlic of Insanity Humous, for example).

I think I will drain the smokey tomato dip and see what happens. :-)

Thinking of making amaretto-mocha mousse cake tonight. :-D

So, it's just past 11pm.

Paul Dewar is well ahead in the running. (And Jen Hunter is doing quite nicely -- not as nicely as I'd have liked, but not too bad).

Here's hoping things continue more or less as-is -- E.G.: With Paul well ahead in the running and climbing. :-)

I, for one, should have been in bed an hour ago.

So I'm going.

But: Just wanted to announce (sort of?): This evening, I made cake. Bittersweet amaretto mocha mousse cake. I used Sara cookies for the crust and the cake is my usual tofu-mousse (with unsweetened chocolate added to the mix -- though I don't think those bits melted very well, so there may be some really icky spots in the cake... Here's hoping they aren't, though... Er...)

But, otherwise, it's fine, and the filling tastes quite good. :-)

I decorated the top with flaked almonds. :-)

Anywhoo. Time for bed for me. :-)

Hopefully, when I wake up, the tories will be way the hell out of power (sorry, CSI_Tokyo -- that party's slant on women, gender equality, sexual/ity equality, the arts, and social safety nets is, uh... kind of horrific, as far as I'm concerned).
