So... Most of you know this already, I suspect, but I thought I'd share.
Not too long ago, some SciFi writer I'd never heard of up until now (go figure - I assume this is at least in part because I tend to live at the fantasy end of the spec.fic spectrum) wrote a tirade about queers and how we're E-ville and causing a total decay of morality like-seriously-woah.
Not linking to him.
Linking, instead to:
Cucumberseed's Humourous Rebutal,
AND
Naamah_Darling's Rant on the Subject (which does contain a link to the original tirade),
AND
Tithenai's brief discussion of same.
Irritatingly, I can't figure out how to flag it as hate-speech. I know you click the yellow-flag button in the little blue tool-bar, but I don't know how to change the report-designation from "explicit adult content" to "hate speech". Anyone know how to do that?
In Tangentially-Related News:
You remember that guy who decided to do a mamoth book of the most phenomenal sci-fi EVAR and totally failed to include anyone of colour or any women?
Well, SeeLight has a post up on the subject of how Editorial Work is Hard and how one goes about actually doing one's job. It's really good. Go read it. :-)
