I got my BPAL order yesterday! :-D (After some unfortunate, but ultimately solved, address problems).

<*is thrilled and excited*>

The order:
One big bottle of 'O'
PLUS
Imps of:
Skuld
Loviatar
Hecate
Eat Me
Gluttony
AND
La Petite Mort

Freebees:

Mag Mell: The Plain (plane) of Joy, eternal reward for a lifetime of valor and glory. A place of eternal youth and beauty, strength and honor, music and revelry. The warmth of amber, the puissance of white ginger and the clarity of verbena, with fresh green grass, lush sage and cleansing droplets of summer rain.
[I'm hoping that the amber and ginger carry this one, as amber and spice seem - so far - to work on me, but we'll see how it goes. I've never worn grass before. :-)]

Laudanum: The essence of the most debauched hunger encapsulated into a perfume. Desire beyond love, anguish beyond sanity. Nutmeg, sassafras, black poppy and myrrh.
[Which I wanted to try, anyway, so hurrah.]

Twilight: An enigmatic, otherworldly scent, brimming with power and mystery. Lavender and jasmine, with a touch of glowing honeysuckle.
[Which I fear will be floral and soapy and horrible on me, but we'll see.]

Vampire Tears: Regret born from ceaseless longing: wisteria, white grapefruit, neroli, green tea, jasmine, white ginger, honeysuckle, iris, and tonka.
[This is an imp of an LE - unexpected, to say the least - one of two scents inspired by a manga magazine called Shujo Beat. This one, due to the jasmine and most likely the honeysuckle, may also turn out to be floral and horrible, but its companion, 'Midnight Kiss' actually sounds like it could work on me. :-)]

Currently wearing:

Left wrist: La Petite Mort

Lab 'ingredients': amber, vanilla, myrrh, ylang ylang

I've heard this one described as "a fruitier version of O" and as "fleshy, like Blood Kiss". Since those are, currently, my two favourite scents, I figured I should give this one a shot.

Out of the bottle, it's fruity - almost like peach/orange or possibly mango. I'm assuming that's the ylang ylang.
I'm, sadly, getting a slight rubber scent on dry-down. That might be the amber/myrrh combination. Or it might just be weird. I don't know. The vanilla is a powdery scent underneath the rubberiness.

[EDIT: Slightly Later: Still a tad on the rubbery/perfumy side, but it's getting better. This is a good thing. :-)]

Right wrist: Eat Me

Lab 'ingredients': Cake Batter/Cookies & Vanilla + Red and Black Currants

I like foody/desserty scents, so the vanilla and cake got my interest. I've tried the Body Shop's rose-casis scent and, while the rose went all to perfumy hell on me, the black currant actually kept the floral in check enough for me to not mind it. Thus, I figured I'd give this currents and cake scent a try.

Out of the bottle, it totally smells like vanilla cake (or cupcakes) - the kind you make with a mix, but richer (due to the vanilla, I suspect). As it dries, the currants come roaring up and, for the most part, take over. A fact about which I'm a *perfectly* delighted, I might add.

This is very much a summer garden party scent. It's tea at Zoe's in the Chateau Laurier. It's (seriously) Nigella Lawson's summer trifle (white cake w/ lemon curd, syllabub and raspberry sauce). It's perfect. A happy, sparkling, gregarious scent that demands Kir Royal on the menu and big, fancy hats with veils and feathers on. And (this is the Mad Tea Party collection, after all) possibly croquet. :-)
I really, *really* like this one. :-D It's *so* yummy! :-D

So those are my first two reviews.

More to follow (probably this afternoon, post watching the Vinyl Cafe performance w/ the family @ the NAC. :-)
