So.
Today was my last day at Ze Old Job.
Happily, Monday is my first day at Ze NEW Job (at Justice, on Sparks Street, 9am-4pm, if anyone's interested).
Which I found out about this afternoon around 1:20pm. :-D
In other news:
1) I finished the first (god-awful, seriously messed up, but still technically workable) draft of the BDSM story - currently titled "Meeting Karen", though I hope to hell I'll come up with a better title than that as the story gets better.
But the draft is done.
It's riddled with NOTES IN CAPSLOCK about stuff that needs to change (how the protagonist ran into her sub), or be cut (most of the Introductory Stuff about the Topping workshop - the lot of which could probably be referenced in passing in the Club Scene), or be added (mini kit in Angela's purse, doing her hair with little, tiny plastic hair-clips, stuff like that).
Also: Angela's Back-Story: I find I know a lot more about the sub she hooks up with than I do about her and, since the story is narrated by Angela, it would be a good idea to nail her personality down a little bit better. :-)
Karen is:
Defending her Dissertation (History - 20th century, not sure what aspect thereof, though) on March 14th, or there-abouts. (Story is set, for the most part, back on the second Monday of January).
Type-1 diabetic (diagnosed at age 6)
Played with barbie-dolls when she was a little kid, but grew out of them (as so many of us do) and more or less ended up a geeky tomboy after puberty hit.
Teaches History of Pop Culture on Thursday Nights (or did last semester).
Teaches Intro to Western History (survey course) on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.
Takes kick-boxing classes every Tuesday night. May also be into other martial arts, most likely including Wing Chun (I think it is - the one that's made for shorter-than-average folk?).
A bit of a neat-freak - not OCD, but she does keep her place Very Tidy and doesn't like to leave dirty clothes on the floor when they could just go into the hamper where they belong).
Vegetarian. I think. Not Vegan.
Reads. A LOT. Of Everything.
An activism veteran (queer rights, women's rights, sexual/ity-positive education, the whole bit).
Bisexual (though I think she prefers women - 'women are for relationships, men are for fun').
