H'Okay!
So, the art-show was spectacular! :-D
Spiffy art, tastey food (which I and a few others jumped in to help make), awesome and impressive contortion performance (by the Young Lady), significant take (in door-cover, donations and art-sales), plenty of networkin.
Big success, happy Girl (who can now pay her ap. fee for a non-student work visa, then enabling her to pay her rent regularly!)
I am pleased for her. :-D
(Also, when I turned up to the show in my medieval-inspired Little Black Dress and cute stockings and Very Carefully Done multi-braided hair-do, she said I looked "So Beautiful..." which (A) meant I achieved my goal for the evening, and (B) pretty-much made my night. :-) YAY! ;-)
We spent this morning lounging around, singing along with Frank Sinatra and this all-women accapella group from one of her schools (Maybe Oberlin? Or it might have been her high school... Can't remember) among other things. She made me strawberry pancakes for breakfast. <3 :-)
I am, as I'm sure is quite obvious, more than a little bit smitten. ;-)
Had brunch with the some of the Slasher gals this afteroon because The Takhys is in town for the weekend (whee!), and it was quite nice to see them all. :-)
Spent the later afternoon drilling holes using Arndis' and Tchang's handy-dandy drill bits. Will try to hang the bathroom cupboard before I go to bed, I think. That way, I can get (another) box unloaded, and I will be that much closer to DONE! YAY! :-D
Must also put bread in the oven. Very important, that. :-)
Anyway. General madness.
Must try to do some writing this week. Hopefully poetry. Possibly fic. Who knows.
Also this week:
Monday: Vote (for the love of earth and heaven!); followed by Pho with the Tsivia. :-)
Wednesday: Attend U of O discussion on Sex Work (whee!) -- must get the details about when and where it is on Campus.
Sunday: Thanks Giving dinner. (Must confirm with host that invite was heard properly -- also, must volunteer to bring gluten-free, dairy-free squash puff of deliciousness to said dinner).
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. :-D
In amongst all of this, I am hoping (HOPING) to get the very last of my boxes unpacked and Dealt With, the last of the art hung -- this may involve finding concrete-wall widgets or something, as I've got a big ol' swath of concrete wall, and nothing on it right now... Bugger...) and get the Abridged Rogues' Gallery hung in the entry-way.
I also want to try making insense/candle 'shelves' for a few spots in the house. Something with a built-in 'stalagmite' to hold an insense stick + enough extra space to hold a small tea-light holder.
At least this is The Idea. (It hasn't quite evolved into The Plan just yet. ;-)
Anyway.
That's my up-date. There's a cupboard to put up, bread to bake, and compost to be rid of, so it's time for me to be off. :-)
- TTFN,
- Amazon. :-)
