That Appalling Petition. It is distressingly long. :-\
Am I surprised that Woody Allen is a rape appologist? No. (Though I admit that I'm not sure *why* this doesn't surprise me...)
Am I surprised that Whoopi Goldberg, Monica Belucci, and Penelope Cruz are rape appologists? You bet I am.
That's really upsetting. :-(
Some lists of actors and actresses who think Polanski should go to hell, but should go to jail first, are available here and here.
In other, rape-related news: Essence has a good commentary on Hosfra and Duke University, low instances of actual charges being laid by rape victims, and the likelihood of repeat victimization or repeat offense, particularly with regard to child witnesses.
