Well, I finally got around to having my house-warming party the other night. It was a combination housewarming/engagement party, and my family, Paul's parents, and a whole bunch of our (mostly my) friends were there. :-)
We got a heap of wine from people and, conveniently, also a heap of fancy glasses. :-) (Thank you Ami and Heather!)
So that worked out really well. :-)
Moria turned up late in the evening (after Kattale returned home) and gave me a big bottle of wild blueberries! Yay!!! :-D
I made chocolate fondue that was a *total* hit, and there was really good cheese on the cheese tray. :-) Most of the food was in the healthy-esque category. :-) Which is good. :-)
There was peach juice, and 5-berry juice, plus a lot of red wine -- After, of course, some fun with a broken cork-screw. My sister eventually went out and got me a new one. :-) (Much better than my old one, as well). But before that, Pat (of Marisol and Pat fame -- well, for some folks reading this, anyway ;-) chipped the cork out of the white wine bottle piece by piece using a knife, a hammer, a long screw, and two different screw-drivers. (He also figured out how to re-fold my pull-out couch. So good for him. He's very helpful. ;-)
Everything went really well, despite the cork screw adventure, and the fact that I was still running around getting things set up for the first, oh, half hour of the party. (oops. ;-)
But, as far as I can tell, everyone had a good time. :-)
It was so absolutely wonderful to see all of our friends and family/ies having a good time together. :-D
It was so great. :-)
And. As an added topper to the evening: My tenants are going to be staying for their full lease after all! :-D
*And* I may have one renter lined up for November. (A cool chicky named MaryAnne. :-)
Woohoo! :-D
Thank the Gods! :-D I am not yet at the doorstep of financial ruin! :-D (They get two eggs for this! :-)
Anywhoo. I'm currently exhausted, so I'm going to hit the sack. :-)
Goodnight, all. :-)
- Nam'ara,
- Amazon. :-)
