So...

Paul and I talked wedding plans last night. :-)

It was nice. :-)

It's good to *talk* again. :-)
(As in carry on a conversation, wherein both of us are awake and able to fully participate, rather than one of us being half-to-three-quarters asleep because it's either too early or too late for him/her to be up -- the perils of having two fairly different work-schedules).

We may end up having the wedding indoors (alas, but it may/will save us some trouble), with lots of plants (hopefully rented, in the case of the ostrich ferns -- we don't have anywhere to put them, y'see), rather than outdoors where there may be rain and/or bugs and/or a lack of electrical outlets and/or random passers-by who want to watch and/or talk about the proceedings
to put a cramp in the ceremony.

As much as I would dearly like to have my feet on the actual ground (or at least have nothing thicker than an isle carpet and possibly a pair of dainty shoes between my feet and the Land), Paul does have a point about the potential problems of an outdoor wedding.
Plus, if we put it indoors, we could make a pretend "night", complete with constelations projected onto the ceiling, at 7pm, rather than having to wait until at least 9pm (which is about when it gets dark, two weeks after Summer Solstice).

Which brings me to: Can anyone think of a cheap (CHEAP) yet reasonably elegant hall that can provide tables and chairs (if not linens, etc) for 80-100 people, + a decently-sized dance area? That would let us do the decorating (unless, of course, it's a room with a lot of plants -- an indoor botanical garden, say), and the catering, and that is in Ottawa? :-)

Anyone? :-) Help? :-) Please? :-)

Thanks a bundle. :-)
