Paul and I have been busy (-ish) today.

We went to Home Depot (my first time ever) and got stuff:
Paul got bamboo sticks (sadly, they are not hollow -- he may end up drilling them through) and pvc pipe (and the Tool of the Day: Industrial Sized Pipe Cutter --> I think it could take off someone's hand).

I got:
Silver "hammered metal" finish spray paint + spray-on clear gloss top-coat
"Elise" semi-gloss paint (a forget-me-not shading to chicory blue -- Quite pretty). Rollers, and roller-tray, painting tape, and this stuff that Paul picked up for me called... "TSP"(?) that you use to clean and de-grease surfaces before you paint them.

So, stage one of the upstairs bathroom make-over will begin tomorrow morning.

(Eep)...

Also today:

Got a call from the lovely and tallented Ami_B, who suggested that we go for a picnic.

So we -- that being her, me, my Paul, her Corey, Cat, Kit, and ("their") Paul, went and had a mini-feast in the big field near my house.
There was fried chicken (thank you, Loblaws), animal cookies, squeezable goat cheese (meaning soft goat cheese, rather than synthetic goat cheese) berry coolers, orange juice, water melon, foccacia (sp), and a whole bunch of other goodies. :-)

The guys (I think it was just the guys) took turns trying to get a kite to lift off. Sometimes it worked. Mostly not. :-\
In the end, Kit gave the kite away, and may the recipients of it have better luck than we did.

Still, the picnic was a great success, and I think a good time was had by all. Yay! :-)

Still (possibly) on the adjenda: Tonight, at Zaphod's, the Vampire Beach Babes will be playing a show.
Paul found out about this and suggested we go.

Of course, now it is 7pm and we (being utterly bizarre) are both tired. I, who haven't even done that much heavy lifting or running around today, am actually finding myself ready for a nap.
(Why??? Why does this happen??? -- Seriously, I feel like a had a (surprisingly small) set amount of late nights and I used them all up by the time I was 22. Possibly before then. It's not like I even had that many late nights before I was 22. Come on. >:-\ <*sigh*> Anyway...)

So, we may end up skipping the show after all. I'm not sure where I am in that camp. We'll find out in about an hour, though, I expect. ;-)

Anywhoo. That's it for me. Time to hunt up some sort of dinner. (Currently munching on animal cookies -- possibly some milk will wash this down nicely and give me back my youthful ability to stay up all night long. ;-) Hahaha...)

I love my fiance. :-) (Like you all didn't know that already. ;-)
He is absolutely wonderful. :-)

That's all for me. :-)

- Nam'ara,
- Amazon. :-)
