So. I had a bit of an odd dream last night.

I got to meet Phedre and Joslain.

Things that didn't quite match up.

1) Joslain was my boyfriend. I don't know where Paul was, or why Phedre wasn't trying break my neck, but there you have it. He wasn't as loosened up as he could have been (oh well, can't win 'em all).
Thought: I keep trying to figure out who Joslain's face is a composite of. I've come up with a cross between Brad Pit and Carry Elwes (lots of Carry, circa the Farm Boy of Princess Bride) and *someone* else. And can't figure out *who*. Some guy with honey-gold hair and a weedy little mustach, and a tendancy to grin almost like Harrison Ford, but not quite, and he chews on tooth picks *a lot*. *Who is this guy*??? (Also, why does Owen Wilson keep creeping into the picture? I dunno...)

2) Phedre had three big tatoos. Two of which were big and took up the entirety of her torso (one front, one back) -- they looked slightly mayan, but not really, and were sort of mandella-esque, and involved turtles done in red and yellow ochre and this sort of washed out teal green.
Her marque (the third tatoo) was done over top of the mayan mandella on her back.
Note: Phedre looked just as good as she's supposed to (although her hair always winds up shorter in my head than it actually is) -- If you took my old friend Julia (whom few of you have met, I realize) and crossed her with... Disney's Snow White (made human, of course), you'd have what shows up in my head. Very pretty, but with a distressing tendancy to look *way* too young. <*sigh*>

3) We spent half the dream in this neat mosaic-tiled court of some Hellen queen or other who said to me "We'll have to get you a diamond" (thankfully not a Melisand type diamond -- that would have just been creapy) -- She sent some servant out to get it, but apparently this person was very new on the job and didn't know the local language (or possibly I didn't -- this is also quite likely) because rather than a diamond showing up in the envilope marked "blue diamond", it was a small collection of delicate costume jewellery pale blue in some cases, deep red in others, all on delicate black chains.
Very pretty, although I would have preferred actual garnets and aquamarines (if not saphires and rubies).

4) At this point the dream changed, and we found ourselves walking through the Gothic Quarter in Ottawa.
For the love of all the Gods. It was in Westboro.
But it looked like a cross between Queen Street West and St. Denis. How the hell did we swing that?
There was even a shop that sold *comfortable* high heels and wedge heels up to *size 14*. Okay, the stillettos weren't *that* comfortable, they weren't bad at all, either. [I wore a pair of them to dinner at Court with the red-beaded neclace from the Queen. Every one was oh-so-impressed.] But, while on the Strip, I mannaged to loose Joslain *and* everybody else.

I found out the next morning that they'd all gone into a club when I wasn't looking (probably looking at shoes, big shock) and I thought they'd gone on ahead.

Joslain was ticked off with me, and I wasn't too happy about him being mad, when *he* was the one who'd wandered off and left me by myself. <*grumble*>

Anyway. I got hold of him on the bus (the bus?) that morning and we sorted out what had happened (although it took some convincing even to get him to sit down), but I think everything worked out in the end.

And that was my dream. Bizzarre, no? :-)
