I just hung up on a telemarketer.

I didn't actually mean to hang up on her, but my upstairs phone went dead on me.
Damn. I hope I didn't hurt her feelings.

In other news:
There is a discussion happening on a news group I'm on wherein the nature of the Gods is being discussed.

It's making me a little nutty, but because it would be unprofessional of me to rant on the news group (it's a schollar's group -- I'd feel wierd about bitching people out on it).
As such, I've decided to do it here. (Lucky you. ;-)

Allegedly there is a belief/understanding among Neo-Pagans that says that the Gods are just energy.
This from people who say things like (to take one example) "I walk on Her body every day".
Just energy? Just Energy???

If She has a body to be walked on, then She is matter, She is Matter (Mattaer, Mother, Matter?)! She has flesh that you can dig your fingers into, flesh that you can smell, touch, even taste (although I'm not sure you'd want to do that last one, I confess). The ground rises to meet your feet in spring; you can feel Her heart beating through your shoes.

If Misha's is the Mystery of the Vine and the Wild Flower, you can not tell me that Her body is not every blade of grass, every chicory flower, every seed and every tree that has ever taken root in Her Mother's flesh, or that I do not devour her corpse at every meal, with every bite I take.

If a Storm god is a god of thunder and lightening and wind, then yes: That god is energy. But is that god not also the lashing rain, or the clouds ripped by the lightening and slammed together as thunder? Does this god not also have a body, watery and cold?

If, at the sub-atomic level, matter and energy are inseperable, then no-one, not even a god, can be one but not the other.

As such, I do not want to hear the wishy-washy, new age garbage that states that 'the gods are just energy'.
Because I know there is more to them than that.

/rant. :-)

Have a lovely day, folks. :-)

- Nam'ara,
