I did the gift-registry thing yesterday.
Tomorrow (in theory) we finalize the guest list.
It was kinda fun (and really time-consuming! I seriously thought it wouldn't take me more than an hour... That place is a maze...) running around with a little zappy thing, although I spent a lot of time going "Where are the non-beige sheets?" "Where are the cheap kitchen gadgets??" "Where did I leave my list???" And so on.
Anyway.
With any luck, this will result in our getting purple sheets and dramatic china by July. :-)
they gave us free champagne glasses. :-\ Who knew? :-)
Anywhoo.
I spent the morning (and some of the afternoon) re-packing the linen closet. It is now mostly a fabric closet, with bags of extra blankets on the bottom shelf (aka: the floor) and one shelf of linnens that we may actually use during the years before our kids need real beds.
This means that the bottom of my china cabinet is now full of china (well, pottery soup terines and tajines and bean pots, and such-like) and I have an entire shelf that is set to take on, well, small stuff that can be displayed. (I'm leaning towards the Chinese-esque tea set my brother-in-law gave me for christmas, since I can turn the cups upside down so they won't get dusty. But that'll hardly take up the whole shelf. So I'll have to move some more stuff around.
Sadly, I've still got a box and a bag of stuff that needs sorting (although I've lived without any of it for a year and half, so it can't be that important...)
But, otherwise, things are a bit less crammed.
Hurrah. :-)
Tonight I've got my staff dinner, followed by Moria's birthday party. :-)
Whee! :-)
I confess, I'm considering wearing uncomfortable shoes.
We'll see if I smarten up by 5:30. :-)
- Nam'ara,
- Amazon. :-)
