Okay.
So.
My squash-creme-brulee turned out... Wierd.
The squash was very fibrous (Despite being pretty-much liquified by the hand blender, so hm). As such, the texture is kind of odd.
Using skor-crumbles for the top worked quite well, however (more's the pity I didn't mix them all through like I'd thought of doing... It would have been quite tasty).
Anyway. It tastes pretty good. *Very* cinnamon-y and(big shock) creamy. I have a huge bowl of it.
Ami: You'll be getting creme-brulee for dessert on Tuesday, assuming Tuesday works for you. :-)
I want to watch Sky High again. Or something else that is equally brainless and has an equally pretty character.
I also want to crawl into bed and have a nap. Or a sleep, as the case may be.
Tomorrow, I believe, is Brunch. So there will be brunching. Hurrah. :-)
And now, to whine about clothes:
(Cause, oh yes, you *really* care about this stuff. *So* much. ;-)
Okay.
I get a 50% discount at work. I get it on one purchase per month, and I can't get more than three things at that discount, but still. It's a decent deal as far as retail goes.
Now, my original plan was this:
Get a 1-month-or-more full-time $12+/hr contract somewhere else.
Give my two weeks notice.
During those two weeks, purchase my 50%-discounted items (especially if those two weeks, say, straddled the end of September and the beginning of October, thus allowing me to get six items at half price due to a technicality).
Leave, with a whole bunch of handy, last-minute additions to my office-wear wardrobe.
Perfect, yes?
Well.
You can see where that plan de-railed, right off the top, yes?
So: the whining: There's a bunch of stuff that I want. Most of it is camisols, which makes things easier, because a half-price cami runs about $12 (pre-tax), give or take a dollar. Getting three of those would be no problem.
However, since of the six (+) items I'd like to take home with me, only four of them are camis. the other two run at $35 each (pre-tax, post-discount). Which is problematic.
Now, granted, neither of these expensive items are items that I actually need.
In fact one of them is just pretty. It's pretty. It's a fishnet cardigan thing that ties in the front and has pretty embroidered trim all around the opening. I could use it to dress up any of my work-skirts so that they're appropriate for, say, Paul's graduation, and I could also use it to go over my wedding bodice for a more fancy occasion.
So it has its uses, but mostly it's just: Pretty.
The other expensive item is a black denim skirt that (if I get it in petite length) flairs quite beautifully just below my knees. It fits gorgeously, it's comfortable, and it's dressy enough to wear somewhere and not look like I just pulled something out of the hamper, so to speak.
I probably couldn't wear it to an office-job, but it would also probably depend on the office. It'd be fine for, say, a casual friday thing or something.
Anyway.
Suffice to say, $82 + $20.70 = More than I can spend on clothes right now.
Blast.
So, the thought goes like this: I can definitely get a couple of camis. That is something the budget can handle. beyond that, though, things get annoying.
Dammit.
I hate when things get annoying!!!
<*cough*>
Right.
Now that I've gotten that out of my system, it's time to check on dinner. (Squash soup, because Paul's stomache is still acting up. I'm a bit worried about this, even though I shouldn't be).
I think we're going to watch Aeon Flux tonight, because it's a dumb movie that could concievably be considered 'goofy'. And I could do with a good dose of goofy right about now. :-)
