I have been cleaning my kitchen counters today. :-)

Hurrah! Cleanliness! Hurray! :-D

I'm currently trying to temper/re-temper my frying pans. <*loves the cast iron*> So they're in the oven with a coating of veggie-oil all over them, baking dry at a low heat. :-) (I may need to switch it to a high heat, however...)

Other activities: I'm making brownies! :-D

By 'making' I mean: I have made the batter. I am waiting for the dishwasher (with the appropriate pan there-within) to finish its cycle before baking them. (Thank you, by the way, Arndis for the inspiriation to put cherries into brownies. :-)

Chocolate Cherry Almond brownies.

Melt together:
1 1/2 C non-dairy chocolate chips
+
1/2C veggie oil.

Blend together (until) in a large bowl:
4 eggs
1C veggie oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
2C sugar
1 tbsp grenadine
1 tsp cherry-chocolate liqueure(sp)
1/4tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Add to the grenadine mixture, and blend until smooth:
2C white flour
+
The chocolate mixture
(You will probably want to switch to a wooden spoon or a spatula for this bit).

In a small bowl (such as the one in-which you melted the chocolate) blend together:
1/3C grenadine
1/3C cocoa
1/2C of the above brownie mixture (to help make it all smooth).

Add to the brownie mixture:
The grenadine-and-cocoa stuff

Blend until smooth, then add:
1/2C slivering almonds, broken into small pieces
1/2C white chocolate chips
1/2-2/3C marischino cherries (that have been roughly chopped -- a little hand-blade mixer is handy for this, I have discovered). A marischino cherry purree might work, too. :-)

Pre-heat the oven to 180C (350F?)
Grease a *large* pan (and/or line it with parchment or something).
Pour the brownie mixture into the pan and spread it out so that it's smooth.

Bake for 25-45 minutes (they will be quite, quite gooey, so be aware).
Allow to cool, serve and enjoy. :-D (Assuming they turn out... which remains to be seen. ;-)

Still to do today:
Grocery shopping (I need more paper bags)
Laundry
Write to the grandparents
Remember how to write a sex scene (I seem to be having some dificulty... But, hey. It's probably like riding a bike. ;-)

Off to check on my frying pans again. :-)
