The Heather Dale concert last night was just marvelous. :-)

Paul came, after all. :-)

We had a grand old time. :-)

We (being Me, TSivia, Sian, and possibly Emily) sang along with just about everything. :-)
I think we annoyed the lady sitting infront of us. (Or at least I did. ;-)
Too bad for her. :-)

Rasputin's makes a good club sandwich.
Sadly, not *that* filling.
(More filling than the equally-priced oven-baked beef, though. So for those who eat meat: Go for the club sandwich!)

Exactly three months from today, I will be a wife, with a husband. :-) (And will have been for almost 18 hours. ;-)

Paul and I got down to business and started adressing wedding invitations on Thursday. :-)
Yay! :-)

I've booked my florist (the lovely Bev, at Loblaws in South Keys) -- I have to phone her after Easter Weekend in order to book my 'consultation' day. (And by consultation, I mean: When I go in and say: "Well, this is what I'd like. How do you propose to make it look good?" :-)

I have a room booked for our wedding night. (At the Strathmere Inn, where the wedding is -- It has a jacuzzi in it. :-)

Paul suggested that we ask Heather Dale (and Ben DesChampes) to do the music for the ceremony.
I talked to them last night, and it might actually be possible. (I'm hoping they'll give us some sort of massive discount if we feed them... We'll see if that works. ;-)

Dress-fitting #2 (or appointment #3) is coming up on Wednesday. :-) I need to remember to bring my shoes that day.
My sister, my Maid of Honour, and Paul's sister have their black coctail dresses. Yay! :-)
I have no idea if the guys (well, Paul's brother and his Best Man) have black suits in their closets. But Paul has his tux, and my brother has one too. So that's half looked after.

Still to do:
Write the vows.
Book a DJ for the reception,
Book the honey-moon B&B in Old Quebec
Book the train tickets to Quebec City (Thank you, Amanda, for the coupon),
Tell Strathmere what our food & drink choices are.
Sort out the whole 'bar' thing (we're going to have a cash bar. Everyone gets two glasses of wine with dinner, and a glass of alcoholic/non-alcoholic peach punch with their hors d'oeuvres. Otherwise, they're on their own).
And
Figure out the decorating... So far, I know there will be little glass 'pebbles' and blue, uncented tea-lights on the tables. And white table cloths. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Otherwise, I think everything is under control. (I'm sure I'll find out otherwise in six weeks when I have to start heavily interacting with Strathmere and really getting down to work. Will I go nuts? Chances are good. ;-)

Anywhoo. That's the weddingy update for now. :-)

So.

Samantha recently posted a set of song lyrics in her live-journal. She does this fairly often, but is far from the only person on my f-list to do so.
But, it got me thinking:

Why?

See.

LJ is an interesting thing in that:
(A) It's a journal, so people put stuff in it that is significant to them for personal reasons. (They also put silly meme things and quizes in them, but that's something else entirely).
But.
(B) LJ is also a public forum, wherein one's posts (unless otherwise programmed) will be read by people you know (and people you don't know). I know there are people who read my journal who I can't, for the life of me, actually recognize. (This isn't a bad thing, mind you. ;-)

Anyway.
This makes me wonder about posting stuff like the entire lyrics of a particular song, without explaining why they are being posted.

For example, were I to post the lyrics of the Jay-Hawks song "All the Right Reasons", I would know exactly why I was posting them.

Everyone else would be going "huh?"

Whereas if I mentioned that Paul and I had slow-danced to said song in his basement within the first month of our dating each other, and that we would be doing so again this July 7th, with an audience of all our biggest fans (tm), then all the people reading the lyrics would have an idea of the context in-which they were to be taken.

:-)

Anywhoo. That's my comment on that subject. :-)
