I got my BPAL order yesterday! :-D (After some unfortunate, but ultimately solved, address problems).

<*is thrilled and excited*>

The order:
One big bottle of 'O'
PLUS
Imps of:
Skuld
Loviatar
Hecate
Eat Me
Gluttony
AND
La Petite Mort

Freebees included: )

Currently wearing:

Left wrist: La Petite Mort

Lab 'ingredients': amber, vanilla, myrrh, ylang ylang

I've heard this one described as "a fruitier version of O" and as "fleshy, like Blood Kiss". Since those are, currently, my two favourite scents, I figured I should give this one a shot.

Right wrist: Eat Me

Lab 'ingredients': Cake Batter/Cookies & Vanilla + Red and Black Currants

I like foody/desserty scents, so the vanilla and cake got my interest. I've tried the Body Shop's rose-casis scent and, while the rose went all to perfumy hell on me, the black currant actually kept the floral in check enough for me to not mind it. Thus, I figured I'd give this currents and cake scent a try.

My thoughts of Eat Me )

So those are my first two reviews.

More to follow (probably this afternoon, post watching the Vinyl Cafe performance w/ the family @ the NAC. :-)
I've been having a grand time all morning making more Solstice mixes. I've got the beginnings of a gothic-metal solstice mix (whee!) and a lovely, quiet one that involves a lot of acoustic instrumentals and a fair bit of Loreena McKennit, too. :-)

Good fun, that. :-)

This afternoon is the Vinyl Cafe performance at the NAC - I'm quite looking forward to it. :-D

Must also finish the tidy-up from last night. (This involves - thankfully - unloading and reloading the dishwasher. Possibly twice. ;-) So I'm not too worried about it. :-)

Last night went quite well, by the way. A small turn out, but a good one. :-)

Miss Ami gave me a lovely and wonderful glass garden ornament that is a humming-bird feeder. It's blue, with a little red flower on the top to get their attention. :-)

Miss Cat (and her fella) gave us a present that includes lube. <*raises eyebrow*> Now I'm nervous about opening the rest of it. ;-)
She also gave me a lovely mix of Christmas Music that Doesn't Suck. Woohoo! :-D I have ripped some of the tracks (Winterwaltz, Hail to the Holly King) to my hard drive and have incorperated them into the above-mentioned Solstice mixes. Whee! :-D

I, irritatingly, wasn't able to find the Tori CD I burned for Bronwyn - blast it! But hopefully I'll have it found before the triple-birthday-party in January.

Bronwyn's pomegranate cookies went over wonderfully. My ginger snaps are snappy and spicy. The gluten-free hazelnut cookies that I made (based on Bronwyn's Anything Cookies recipe, but heavily altered) not only didn't suck, but were pretty damn tasty. I'm quite pleased with them. :-)

Oh, and: In the fine tradition of musical appropriation:

The Holly and the Ivy - Pagan Lyrics )

*~*~*~*~*

Anyway. I need to unload that dishwasher, and eat something other than cookies. (Most likely left over fig-and-chevre hors d'oeuvres. ;-)

Left Wrist: Gluttony:

My bloody sweet gods! :-O
That stuff is a boozy, bawdy sugar-rush right out of the bottle, and it stays that way even after dry-down. The toffee and caramel hit you in the nose and just keep coming - it's almost sickly sweet, and it's got quite the throw going on. Yow! Not a subtle one, but one that I like. It's like... If Hellcat's a honey-trap hooker in a saloon, Gluttony is the Madame who runs the bar.

It's a sweet, sticky smell that's slightly over-powering. This would be one to use sparingly, or to put under your clothes, rather than on exposed skin.

I tried Laudanum on my right wrist, but it got totally over-powered. It dries down to a bitter/iris-y baby powder kind of scent but, otherwise, I got nothing. I'll have to try it again later. :-)

Dinner in five minutes.
