The main reason for this, I suspect, is the fact that it's warm enough to go out without a hat on, so I've actually put my hair up and worn my Pretty Boots (despite the ice and the likelihood of Huge Rivers of MeltWater All Over the Streets on my way home this afternoon).

So I feel pretty.
I did my makeup.
I feel pretty.
I wore that nifty shell necklace Idioglossia gave to me last time she was over.
I feel pretty.
I wore "O" pefume (which, alas, seems to have gone slightly to "mould smell" on me today, and yet. Still feeling pretty).

I have been reading Palimpsest and watching the community that is springing up around it -- I love this phenomenon. It's...

Back when Dingsi had a journal here, he wrote something about the perfect party, which echoed an image in my own soul, which I then posted about.

The perfect party, where everyone clicks, and we're all being artistic and creative and Fabulous, sipping wonderful drinks from beautiful glassware, and feeding each other fresh fruit and chocolates and lounging around on impossibly comfortable velvet couches (although rooms full of throw-pillows and super-thick-pile carpets would work, too), with candle-light all over the place and lush curtains, and moonlight coming through the windows and throwing shadows of vines across the floor/table/carpet/etc. Everyone is dressed in their finest - which is a funky mix of gothic stuff, SCAdian stuff, fetishy/burlesque/overtly-sexual stuff, steam-punk stuff, and General Exoticism (Kimonos with corsettes, swaths of silk, saris and those Greek dresses that used to use the really huge pins, Raqs stuff, Victorianna). People with pink hair and tattoos, people wearing hand-made jewellery and vintage clothing. People who tatt their own lingerie, and people who invest in Fabulous Hats. Corsettiers and milliners and coblers and perfumiers, and people who love what they make and support them at their work. People who write and sew and paint and sculpt, poets and artisans and photographers and dancers, artists and art-lovers, and we are all thrown together in a wonderful room full of scents and textures and beauty all around us, and we are that beauty come to life, giving it life, creating and re-creating, sharing and growing in the sharing.
And it's beautiful.
And I see this in the community around this book!
You have NO IDEA how happy this makes me!
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Anyway. I love this whole idea. It's very, very inspiring. :-D
