Swaptree are two sites where you can trade used books (among other things), user-to-user.
Indibound is a site for finding independant publishers. Not actually helpful if you are in Canada (or at least Ottawa), but if you're in the states, it's a place to start.
Powells in Portland may be a suitable alternative for those who want a large shop-online catalogue.
Alibris is a used/rare books website that connects independent used book sellers with buyers (similar to ABE Books).
