I'm Hooooooooooooooooooooooome! :-D
The weekend was good. Large amounts of reading (Keri Hulmes' The Bone People - an excellent, if occasionally sad, book that everyone should pick up at some point, ideally soon) and writing (more Switch/Trin fic), as well as occasional swimming, doodling, and a random sing-along. :-)
I made Cake Number One for Paul's birthday.
It was chocolate-chocolate-mousse w/ raspberries as filling, and it was really good. :-D
Cake Number Two (due on Tuesday) will be Brownies with Stuff. But I'm not sure what stuff just yet. I'll be going out to do a Really Big Grocery Run on Tuesday (probably morning) in order to get stuff for the cake, as well as stuff for the cookies I'm making for Bernadette's kids. :-) Bulk Barn will be involved. :-)
In other news:
Happy Birthday (late) to Hyel. Go you! :-D
I have attempted to send you "Ain't No Other Man" via MegaUpload. Here's hoping it works. :-)
I had a grand old time this morning doodling up a drawing of a potential hobbit-style house (it would require 100mx100m of land, though - ideally river-front land, which is hard to come by around here), so it might be a bit tricky. But I can figure something out. :-)
Basically, the south-facing wall is all triple-glazed windows and solar-panels, and the rest is all three-to-five feet of earth with round windows set into it, that's terraced so that it can be covered with currants and blueberries and bramble-berries and roses and such-like.
I brought home a few bunch-berries and a few low-bush blueberries to attempt to seed in our garden. :-) We shall see how that turns out. :-)
We sat outside last night, the whole bunch of us (me, Paul, and Paul's mom, grandma, aunt and cousin - briefly joined by Paul's dad) and watch the sky for shooting stars.
It was so, so beautiful. :-D
(I saw two shooting stars, Paul's cousin, Megan, saw three. 'Tis the season for meteor showers, after all. :-)
<*sigh*>
I miss seeing stars in the city. It would be nice if we could figure out a way to cheaply and effectively cap all the street-lamps so that they only lit the ground rather than the night sky as well.
Anyone have any ideas? :-D
- TTFN,
- Amazon. :-)
