Have fun! :-D
In other news: Paul's Aikido Equipment Bag is... coming along nicely, if I do say so myself. (My left hand rather hurts from the repetitive motion, but otherwise we're doing okay. ;-) I need to sew the sides up, and add the draw-string thing (which will be a few inches thick, not counting the track, and made of former-boot-upper vinyl).
It is about 5.5' long, and 3"+ wide. The bottom is padded and reinforced with plastic mesh. It's also got a vinyl covering made out of former-boot-upper.
I have to make the strap - which may or may not end up padded. I'm not sure yet.
I may or may not stitch his name onto it in a contrasting colour. We shall see how ambitious I am feeling. ;-)
As far as my tote bag goes: Bag is done. Straps are very-much still in progress. *Will* be padding them, because I know how much junk I tend to carry around. :-)
I'm thinking of making chess queens (one red/burgundy, and one silver) out of scraps of velour and applique-ing (Spelling? What spelling?) them to the lower right-hand corner of the bag.
We'll see if I go through with it.
(I have this small, developing idea to do a series of Alice-in-Wonderland themed bags. Possibly handing them around as gifts to various relatives and what-not. This will, at least in part, depend on how this one turns out. :-)
So, yeah. I'm feeling sewingly creative. :-) Hurrah! :-D
