I have been boot shopping, and I have been successful! :-D
I now own a pair of these spiffy things, in size 12 mens. They are *little* bit big for me, but they are *only* a little bit big for me, which suggests that the 11s (if there had been 11s available) would have been too small.
So hurrah. :-D
I now have warm, reasonably comfortable winter boots that, ideally, will last for more than a year. Yay! :-D And they're not totally hideous! Double-Yay! :-D
So this is really happy-making. :-)
In other materialistic news:
I also hit up Chapters and got The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass, as well as Trickster's Choice - my very first Tamora Pierce (what took me so long, I don't know -- I already want more. Her new book, Bekka Cooper: Terrier looks particularly interesting). So I shall have Tamora telling me stories for the next little while. Three cheers for feminist story-telling! :-D
(I've got ~$14.00 left on the GC from Paul's parents which, I suspect, will go towards getting another Tamora book. Probably the sequel to the one I'm reading now. ;-)
And, lastly: I picked up another string of moonstone chips (from Michael's - along with a string of probably-lab-produced turquoise and another string of lapis lazuli) to finish my moonstone-and-pearl necklace. Hurrah! :-) At some point I will need to pick up some citrine and some green adventurine. And, most likely some more rose quartz.
While Ami was over yesterday, I finished off my lapis lazuli, amethyst and black (dyed, I have no doubt) pearl string - which is *just* long enough to go twice around my neck. Sadly, I have a hell of a time with the clasp so, for now, I'll have to wear it long. <*shrug*> Oh well. :-)
Paul has gone to the grocery store, but will be back any minute now. At which point we will, I think, sit down to watch "The Hogfather" (Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!) and enjoy each others' company. :-) Hurrah. :-)
So I'm quite happy today. Hurrah! :-D
Off to continue working on my necklace. :-)
- TTFN,
- Amazon. :-)
