Trans Day of Remembrance

November 20 will mark the fifth annual Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) in Ottawa. The GLBTQ Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity at Carleton University has taken the organizing initiative this year.

At Carleton, TDOR will be a full day of events starting at 3 pm in the Unicentre Atrium with a Trans 101 presentation followed by a speaker's panel. The presentation will be the basics of trans identity and issues. Our speakers, who will be answering questions, include Drs. Helma Seidl, Norman Barwin and Dan Irving. This will be followed by a documentary screening that highlights trans issues. The final event of TDOR will be a candlelight vigil at the Eternal Flame on Parliament Hill.

The candlelight vigil gets underway at 8 pm.

Contact for the GLBTQ Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity at Carleton University is Danielle at glbt@cusaonline.com or 613.520.3723.
