Who knew?

So I went to Umi to read more Artist's Way and do some of the exercises and give myself a tarot reading.

And while I was shuffling the cards, the guy at the next table turns around, looks away, and turns back again and asks how much it would be for me to give a reading for him.
And I'm all, "I'm not actually very good at this, um..."
But he wants a readings so I figure, why the hell not.

So I do the "Fool Spread" that I learned from Maeven and apparently do it really, really accurately (I have no idea what was on his mind, but apparently something about Earth Stuff, given how many earth cards turned up in the reading).
He said he recognized a lot of himself in the reading, and asked me to do one about his job, which I did (basically, the job he's in now isn't doing him any favours and is weighing heavily on his mind, and he needs a change, but he's also really well-suited to the job he's got and it's going to be a weird switch to do something else that'll require a different set of relating-to-people skills. I think).

He showed me the scar on his leg where he got shot.

He told me about the Goddess who talked to him and got him and twelve other soldiers through 39 days of walking through desert (Iraq, Syria, and Afganistan) and who marked him as a scorpion.

He introduced himself as Diablo, the devil.

The fourth card in the spread I did for him -- the card about his fears - was the Devil card.

Maybe he's afraid of himself.
