So. :-)
On my way to work today, an older gentleman who looked like he might have been from Trinidad -- He didn't sound it, though. He was French, (or at least spoke French), and I don't know if Trinidad is known for being francophone -- He asked me if I spoke French (I replied that I spoke a little bit), and proceeded to tell me that he'd seen me around a lot, and that I always looked nice, not walking around half-naked the way other girls do. He said that it was good that I walk by myself rather than in a group of friends (???). He then asked if I had any children. I told him "not for another six years" and threw in a mention of Paul just in case. He asked if Paul was as tall as I am, and I said no, he comes up to about ear-ish on me (I think). And then he said that he hoped I would have lovely, tall children.
<*shrug*>
So that was my unusual event for the day. <*shrug*> At least he wasn't asking me about my weight (Older Middle-Eastern Gentleman), or trying to kiss me (Older Greek -- probably -- "Gentleman").
Anyway.
In other news: How 'bout that weather. (Seriously! It *hailed*! Half of my peas got burried in mud, and my viola & one of my hostas got up-rooted. Eek!)
I planted my morning glories and my Hollyhocks, and my wild-flower seeds, though. :-) (Lupins and blue flax, among them. :-)
Now I just have some herbs (and Nasturtiums) and the cantaloupes, and maybe another cucumber or two to plant. :-)
Whee! Here's hoping they actually take root! And grow, and leaf, and bud, and flower, and fruit! :-D
I gave my garden a pep talk in the hopes that this would help. :-)
In other news: I got new clothes + new movies today. :-)
Movies:
- Hidalgo (In tones of fluttering, swooning falcetto: "VIIIIIggooooh!" ;-)
- Big Fish
- I Robot (for Paul, because our down-load totally didn't work, and he wasn't too happy about that).
Clothes:
- Two cotton-ribbed sleeveless (sp) tops with fancy-ish necklines (one red, and one black)
- One red tank-top w/ a built-in bra (not that I need it)
- One black, A-line, knee-length linen-blend skirt w/ four pleats in it.
All from work. :-)
I also got (by sheer luck) a $500+ sale at work today, so I win a $25 bonus (in theory) on my pay-cheque. :-) Which covers the cost of most of those movies. :-)
Tomorrow I do laundry and vaccuuming. :-)
Currently reading: "A Community of Witches" by Hellen Berger. (Sociology).
Is it just me, or did her respondents give her false information on a few things? :-\
And what's with this "Wiccans (Presumably referring specifically to the BTs she was interviewing) are the most committed Neo-Pagans" crap? Sorry, but just because I haven't taken some oat of secrecy to/about them doesn't make me any less committed to my Gods. >:-P
