Hello, everybody. :-)

Okay, I moved into my first house about a year ago. (One year next week, in fact), and my upstairs bathroom is a rather ugly throw-back to the 70s. I would like to give it a cool and modern(ish) watery feel.

For as little money as possible.

Thus, I have questions.

The most important one is this:
Can I decoupage a cheap "faux marble" counter-top using crumpled-and-re-rolled alluminum foil (dull side or shiny side, either way) so that it is (A) *totally water-proof*, (B) not going to gather mould or mildew, (C smooth on top, so that it's very easy to clean.

Also: Can I do it in a room with lousy ventilation?

Second Question:
Can I paint over ceramic bathroom tile (in the shower, so it needs to be water-proof) and *grout* (A) without destroying the grout, and (B) so that none of the very *busy* original tile shows through (I want to paint the tiles white, so this could be an issue), (C) so that it's waterproof and won't collect mildew, and (D) So that it's very easy to clean.

Also: Can I do that in a room with lousy ventilation?

Any and all help is appreciated. :-D
